About

Rhona's SaladI’m a Registered Holistic Nutritionist™, a field of practice that offers diet and lifestyle consulting to clients wanting to improve their health and well-being.

Since September 2017 I’ve been running the Victoria classroom of CSNN Vancouver Island, where I’m also one of the instructors.

I have a long association with Haliburton Community Organic Farm in Victoria, BC. I’ve worked with the farmers to promote their beautiful certified organic produce as part of a healthy and affordable diet. As part of this, I managed the farm’s community supported agriculture program, sharing recipes and nutritional tips with food box subscribers.

The farm’s latest initiative is the Haliburton EcoFarm School, launching in January 2018. We’ll be training students in certified organic farming practices, biodiversity and ecosystem restoration, and holistic nutrition! As one of the core educational leads, I will be providing nutritional coursework and food preparation workshops to a new crop of organic farmers.

I’m a writer, too. Aside from publishing 9 books of poetry, I’ve written and researched food security and urban agriculture (check out my book Digging the City: An Urban Agriculture Manifesto) and have knowledge to share about growing and sourcing good quality local food. My first nutrition article was published in Alive magazine and more, I hope, will follow. My talks are listed elsewhere on this sites; I post relevant information at the end of the session in order to allow participants and others to pursue ideas raised in further detail.

You can email me, Like me on Facebook and follow me on Twitter. (Or learn more about my writing at my other website.) Hope to see you sometime!
